Runes of Mystery

If you've got a knack for match-3 games and crave a bit of a challenge, Runes of Mystery definitely piques interest. Clicking on groups of 3 or more similar items to clear them feels satisfying, especially when you manage to remove all grey backgrounds to hit your goals. Tackling the puzzle to drop down coins adds an extra layer of strategy that keeps the gameplay engaging. While the scoring system can seem a tad obscure at first—some rounds the bonuses are hefty, other times not so much—it's something you get the hang of over time. Lots of friends have mentioned the thrill they get as they progress, with the difficulty seemingly ramping up on that second run. The goal to reach the top of the leaderboard adds a competitive edge to it, too. It's not without its quirks, but it's a solid puzzler that's been a hit among my circle.
